Here's Owen with his original beautiful plush "Little Giraffe" brand Blankee that I purchased in Chicago in June of 2009.

Here's Owen with Blankee today. There are now two identical Blankees in circulation. One is always in the wash and the other is with Owen. They have to be bleached several times a week. I bought a third idential one and tried to put it into circulation, but it is too clean and soft and he wants nothing to do with it. Owen sucks on the blankees and rubs the material against his nose. He cannot sleep without one. They smell sooooo bad and look incredibly bad too. They are taking on a permanent brown color. Now that he's moved into the middle house at school, they've also taken on new paint spots. The teachers in the Little House at school coined his Blankee as "Manky Blankee", but recently they told me that it was getting so bad that they upgraded to to "Skanky Blankee". The teachers have to tell other parents that come in and see this child with a dirty rag in his mouth that his parents really do wash it each week. We are slowly weaning to have Blankee at only sleep times, but it isn't easy!
